Complete dentures are used to replace teeth when there are no remaining teeth. Dentures restore teeth, the ability to chew, as well as speak.  Dentures can also restore facial features, such as lips and cheeks, that may have become saggy due to the lack of supporting teeth, gums and bones.


 A complete denture consists of a custom made plastic base which is connected to plastic teeth that come in various sizes, shapes, and shades.  The plastic base of the dentures are custom made to comfortably and intimately fit to your gums and jaws.

Complete dentures are held in place through suction forces and stabilized by the underlying gums and bone.  Dentures are an extremely good option for many people, but the success of the dentures depends on the amount and shape of the underlying bone that forms the arch of the jaw.

Previous to dental implants, complete dentures were the only way to restore teeth when all the teeth were missing.  Today, people who wish to have something that they do not have to take in and out may opt for dental implant crowns.  Those who do not mind having a removable prosthetic but wish for something more stable may choose to have dental implant supported dentures instead.  Please contact our office to schedule an exam and determine which option is best for you.
