A “filling” (or dental filling) is a way to replace lost tooth structure due to decay,
abrasion, and/or erosion. A filling simply restores form (i.e. shape, color) and function
(i.e. ability to chew) to your teeth. Our goal in restorative dentistry is to return
your tooth to its original condition after we have made sure that all unhealthy and
compromised tooth structure has been removed and cleansed.
